Better Concentration and Memory Power

Your child's brain is subjected to constant stress and pressure while preparing for examinations. Their daily schedules are disrupted and are prone to illness as their body resistance is decreased. More energy and nutrition is required.

Scientists have found that the non-saturated fatty acid DHA found in Omega-3 can help in increasing brain power, improving memory, mind concentration and retina development.

Intake of DHA will help to:-
- Provides necessary nutrition for the brain;
- Enhance brain alertness, sharpness and versatility;
- Strengthen the body to cope better with stressful conditions

DHA speeds visual development in breast-fed infants

Experiments have shown that babies fed with DHA are with increased eye-hand co-ordination and better able to get their toys. Between six and 12 months, blood levels of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) in breast-fed infants tends to drop due to lower DHA stores in mothers and the introduction of DHA-poor solid foods to replace human milk, say the researchers from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas.

These results are the latest in a series of studies that demonstrate the importance of DHA in the development of infants and children. Most leading formula makers already offer DHA-enriched versions.

Omega-3 improves children attention

The researchers report that at 60 months, or five years of age, the children whose mothers received DHA for the first four months of breastfeeding demonstrated an attention advantage, using the Sustained Attention Subtest of the Leiter International Performance Scale. The necessary nutrition is for brain and vision development for the foetus between the 20th and 36th weeks of pregnancy.

The same researchers had earlier reported (in April 2001) that the children whose mothers received DHA supplementation demonstrated enhanced psychomotor development at 30 months of age. The researchers did not notice similar effects on psychomotor development at five years, leading them to conclude that the earlier results may reflect more sustained attention rather than better motor function.

DHA supplements remedy cholesterol levels in children

Taking supplements of DHA (Omega 3) appeared to restore normal blood vessel function in children with inherited high cholesterol, report researchers.

Recent UK research revealed that 20 per cent of a group of 11-14 year olds were already experiencing deterioration in their micro-vascular health.
This raises a child's chances of having high cholesterol levels in adulthood, the single biggest modifiable risk factor for coronary heart disease. However it is not known whether cholesterol-lowering medications are safe for use in children so treatment usually begins with dietary changes and exercise.
After consuming DHA supplementation for six weeks , the children's blood vessel function was restored to the levels of healthy children, say the authors in the December 2004 issue of The International Journal of Clinical Pharmacology  and Therapeutics  (vol 42, pp 672-679).

The researcher believed that DHA may improve NO synthesis or release, previously observed in a study of EPA on endothelial cells and in human volunteers after fish oil supplements. "DHA has the potential to delay early coronary artheriosclerosis in hyperlipidemic children," they conclude.

Omega 3 Allows Asthmatic Athletes to Catch Their Breath

7/22/04 - Omega 3 supplementation may effect to a condition related to asthma called exercise-induced bronchoconstriction (EIB) in highly trained athletes, according to a study in the American Journal of Critical Care Medicine (2003;168:1181-9).

The new study investigated the effect of omega-3 supplementation on measures of lung function and the production of inflammatory substances in ten elite athletes with EIB. Lung function was significantly better, and levels of inflammatory markers in the blood and urine were lower during treatment with omega-3 than during placebo treatment. The results of this study demonstrate that supplementation with Omega 3 reduces the severity of EIB in elite athletes.

Hyperactive children lack essential Omega 3 fatty acids

WEST LAFAYETTE, INDIANA. Children suffering from attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are inattentive, impulsive, and hyperactive. Researchers at Purdue University now report that hyperactive children have lower levels of key Omega 3 in their blood than do normal children Analyses showed that the boys with ADHD had significantly lower levels of EPA and DHA in their blood.
The hyperactive children suffered more from symptoms associated with essential fatty acid deficiency (thirst, frequent urination, and dry hair and skin) and were also much more likely to have asthma and to have had many ear infections.

The researchers conclude that ADHD may be linked to a low intake of omega-3 (linolenic, eicosapentaenoic, and docosahexaenoic acids). The researchers conclude that supplementation with the missing fatty acids may be a useful treatment for hyperactivity.

Women and Omega-3

Omega-3 are constituents of the membranes of all cells in the body and are precursors of locally produced hormones (eicosanoids) which are important in the prevention and treatment of various diseases, especially in women. Omega-3 is of interest in some of the most common conditions affecting women.

Painful menstruation

One mechanism underlying Painful menstruation is a disturbed balance between anti-inflammatory hormones derived from omega-3 and pro-inflammatory hormones derived from omega-6. Increased intake of omega-3 can reverse the painful symptoms in this condition by decreasing the amount of omega-6 in cell membranes.

Facilitate Pregnancy

An increased prostacyclin/thromboxane ratio induced by omega-3 can facilitate pregnancy in women with infertility problems by increasing uterine blood flow. Supplementation with omega-3 during pregnancy lowers the risk of premature birth and can increase the length of pregnancy and birth weight by altering the balance of hormones involved in labor and promote fetal growth by improving placental blood flow. Intake of omega-3 during pregnancy and breast feeding may facilitate the child's brain development.

Other Conditions

There is also some evidence that supplementation with omega-3 might help to prevent hypertension occurring in pregnancy (preeclampsia), postpartum depression, menopausal problems, postmenopausal osteoporosis, and breast cancer. Furthermore, because elevated triglyceride levels are associated with cardiovascular disease, especially in women; and because omega-3 has powerful effects on triglycerides, women in particular gain from an increased intake of these essential fatty acids. This is especially important in women receiving hormone therapy, which can increase triglyceride levels. The quality of the omega-3 preparation is important. It should have an appropriate antioxidant content not to induce lipid peroxidation, and its content of dioxin and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) should be well below the established safe limit.

Improve your skin by strengthening your health

The oxygen we inhale for the respiration process also reacts inside our body to cause oxidation in the cells. This an inevitable natural process that gives rise to the formation of free radicals in our body. Such by-product (free radicals) can cause heart disease, premature aging, suppressing the immune system and many other degenerative diseases. To combat free radicals, regular intake of an antioxidant is Vitamin E.

In, Royal Omega, optimum portion of natural Vitamin E (D-alphatocopherol) extracted from soy plants is added to the softgel. Consume together with our high quality Omega-3 fish oil, your body function and cell activation will be greatly improved. Healthy blood circulation lowers risks of heart and migraine attacks resulting in healthy skin.

People collapse without warning, having no time to bid farewell, and leaving behind shocked, dismayed and stranded loved ones wondering "What happened?"

Evidenced by scientific and medical experiments and statistics, sufficient daily intake of EPA (a natural polyunsaturated fatty acid richly found in Omega-3 fish oil) helps to reduce risks of sudden death, heart diseases, high blood pressure and relief of stress, anxiety and depression.

Pharmaceutical Grade Omega 3 from Norway fights sudden death for heart attack survivors

Daily supplements of a fatty acid found in fish oil halves the risk of sudden death in heart attack survivors, researchers report in today's Circulation: Journal of the American Heart Association.
Previous research has found that eating oily fish such as tuna and salmon can reduce the risk of sudden cardiac death caused by a particular type of irregular heartbeat. This study suggests fish-oil supplements, rather than dietary fish oil, could be a therapy without side effects for heart patients.

High Triglycerides

Like cholesterol, triglycerides are common types of fats (lipids) that are essential for good health when present in normal amounts. They account for about 95 percent of the body's fatty tissue. Triglycerides are present in food as well as manufactured by the body.

Abnormally high triglyceride levels are associated with a number of diseases and conditions, such as cirrhosis (a disease of the liver), underactive thyroid gland(hypothyroidism), diabetes and pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas).

Omega 3 supplements slow ageing of brain

21/12/2004 - People who eat oily fish or take fish oil supplements score 13 per cent higher in IQ tests and are less likely to show early signs of Alzheimer's disease, according to a new study in Scotland.

Dementia already affects millions around the world and the threat is increasing with the growing numbers of elderly. Alzheimer's disease, the leading cause of dementia in the elderly, afflicts an estimated 4.5 million people in the US alone.

A team from the University of Aberdeen and the University of Edinburgh gathered data from people who had taken part in a national IQ survey in 1947, when they were aged 11, and tested them again in 2000-01 when they were aged 64. The researchers used a questionnaire to find out about omega-3 levels from the subjects' diet and supplement use, and tested their plasma levels of omega-3.
Writing in this month's American Journal of Clinical Nutrition (vol 80, no 6, pp1650-1657), the researchers report that cognitive function in the 64-year-olds was higher if they were Omega 3 supplement users than if they did not take supplements.

Lawrence Whalley, a professor of mental health at Aberdeen University and head of the research team, commented that there was evidence that fish oils slow the ageing of the brain by reducing inflammation.

"The big difference we found was not in memory but in mental speed," he told the paper. "The brains of fish oil users seemed to be faster. There was a strong relationship between mental test scores and the omega-3 content in the blood."

"The results suggest to me that Omega 3 users have younger brains than the non-users. The ageing of their brain is being slowed down by a year or two."

Healthy Joint

Our joints go through much wears-and-tears in the course of our daily activities. As a result, the cartilage providing padding for our joints becomes worn out, leaving bones exposed to rub against each other, thereby causing pain in our physical movement as we age.

Acting as a lubricant, Omega-3 offers relief to help improve the structure and health of joints and cartilage, thereby reducing pain. Omega-3 supplementation has also been proven to enhance mental function, hence it is highly recommended to the elderly.

Regular intake of Royal Omega helps to:-
- Support healthy body immune system;
- Promote joint elasticity and flexibility;
- Support healthy blood circulation,
- Enhance your alertness, sharpness and versatility;
- Fight the ravages of old age as it will helps to relieve your body general tiredness and weakness to cope better with the daily stressful activities.
